Yes, I have spoken with Symantec Support and QuickBooks Suport with no resolution to date. The customer has been considering an upgrade to QuickBooks V2010 but we don't believe it will resolve the issue.
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsWe just updated our Windows 2003 server with Symantec Endpoint Protection version 11.0.5 and the local desktop computers can no longer access the QuickBooks 2008 data. The server does not have the SEP firewall or network protection enabled at all. The previous version 11.0.4000 was working prior to the update. Uninstalling version 11.0.5 on the server allows it to work. SEP Manager Console is still installed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

this is a known issue with 11.0.5. The only way to fix it is to either go back to 11.0.4 or to Disable realtime protection. Neither of these are good solutions and Symantec needs to fix it but at this time I know of know solution which is why we rolled back to 11.0.4.

Have you called Symantec Support (since the prior version of SEP worked)? And also, can you consider a newer version of QuickBooks? V2010 is out, and since V2010 now encompasses all tax jurisdictions as well as multi-currency, I understand that Intuit is dropping support for everything earlier than V2009. ... Thinkpads_User
