My Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager took alot of my C Drive space

if you are using live update administrator you need to double check what you have set to download.
 
I noticed this behaviour when i first installed sep and live update when i scheduled the downloads and deployments i didnt realice that i was downloading the entire catalog cor sep (virus definitions for 32bits and 64 bits) Along with updates for other symantec products. not was this just eating up the space on the space hard drive but it was also eating up my bandwith when the download schedule kicked in.
 
Also other things to consider it which version of sep you are using i think there was a bug on sep mr1 that
 
also in sep manager go to
Admin ->Local Site ->Properties ->Liveupdate and adjust the number of contect revisions to keep.
 
 
 

Thanks for your comment. I have made some changes to update. The problem is that now it db folder which has the database called "sem". This database file size is about 25GB, how i can reduce its size now. I have already made some changes to Database Maintenance settings. But still no effects.

I have SEPM ver. 11.0.2000.1567.   As in the link it said that i must have 1.5 or two times of sem database size free space. But my sem database is 25GB and i have 3 GB Free Space. Please help me with this.

And also, please tell me how to change the path for backup of SEPM Embeded Database

After taking backup of database, can i start shrinking the database. Because i have about 3 GB Free Space of C Drive?  Besides, I have tried to upgrade it to latest version, but our server does not support.

whne you say your server does not support?
what do you mean?.
 
also a simple clean up might give you the space need in order to upgrade
click on start->programs->accessories-> system tools->disk clean up then select the c drive and perform a clean up that will give more space in order to perform the ugprade

From hardware point of view,  i have already done DISK CLEAN UP. How about if i start Shrinking the Database, without taking backup?  or Shrinking the database requires free space.

before you try to do anything.
 
Look for the previous backed up database delete it and run a back up of the sep db then you can try shirking it. just to make sure you have a current back up. also after you back up the database you might want to move it to an external drive just to make sure  you have enough space to rebuild the db.

how much space does it need to shrink the db? Sorry, i am asking alot, because it is very critical situation. I want to be 1000% sure befor doing something.

They problem is that i don't have free space. Only the sem5.db taken 25GB. i have to some how reduce its size. I have made changes to log settins and databae settings on site properties. But it didn't bring any changes to the database size.
