To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. How to remove WinPC Defender?

I have a friend's laptop which I've already cleaned up once. I have no desire to do another reinstall for her.

She's an elderly widow and not really in a position to pay for software.

She has removed AVG AV and installed the rogue anti-spyware program WinPC Defender.

One source said that Malwarebytes will remove this pest, but WinPC Defender must have got smarter since that info was posted because it's blocking the MalWareBytes installation. It also seems to be stopping AVG AntiSpyware, Spybot and Ad-Aware from functioning.

SpyNoMore is supposed to remove it, but although it seems to find WPCD it won't remove it unless I pay for the program. From all reports it's not worth paying for.

There are restore points available but I haven't tried them yet.

How can I get rid of this pest?
