Yahoo does not restrict the number of yahoo accounts a particular user can have, so a single person can have more then one yahoo accounts. Step 2. Select HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Step 3. Select Software and then select Yahoo
Step 4. Then select Pager and then select Test
Step 5. On the right pane, right-click and choose new Dword Value .
Step 6. Rename it as Plural.
Step 7. Right Click on Plural and press Modify or Double click on Plural.
Step 8. Change value of Value Data 0 to 1.
Now you can open as many yahoo-messenger instances as you want.

That trick does work, indeed. I tested it with YIM 10.
Starting with Windows 2000, there is a much easier and "foolproof" way to change the registry: reg.exe. In 2000 you have to "install" it by extracting from the CD, \Support\ Tools\Support.cab.
In XP and above it is installed by default as part of the system tools.
With that command available, you simple have to copy this into a Command Prompt:
reg add HKCU\Software\Yahoo\pager\
