Chat settings have nothing to do with the problem. The problem is that someone in Yahoo chat rooms has a booter program and keeps booting people. I was wondering if there is a program out there that can prevent someone from booting me out of the chat room. I knwo there are booter programs that allow you to boot someone from chat but is there a program that can block this action?
(Since this is a 500pt question) A quick summary of whats happening here and what type of programming you are looking for to stop it:
Yahoo booting is done in a couple of different ways but the most common is simply a denial of service attack (DoS) which leads to a connection timeout with the yahoo server. The booter program sends a large number of messages in a very short period of time (the type of message is what distinguishes the type of booter), the overloaded yahoo client has to acknowledge/respond to each of these very long packets (which takes time). If enough packets are sent in a short enough time then the yahoo client cannot respond to the servers "Are you still connected message?" and the client is kicked.
Your looking for a program to block or limit those messages.
