Has your I.T department introduced an IM block perhaps? For many of my clients we block AIM Yahoo and ICQ. Check to see if your colleagues can log in ok?

The old version used to work fine.  As soon as I installed the new version.. I got that error.  My yahoo, skype and google talk work, but MSN which is my 2nd most used messenger, is done.  :(

Understood. This seems to be well documented, I did a quick Google on the error code and it does return plenty of pages like this one: http://msn-errors.blogspot.com/2007/04/fix-8100030d-messenger-error.html

I can not say for sure what the fix will be but usually I find that working through the articles will often yield the answer however in the interim you can use a web based version of MSN Messenger - http://webmessenger.msn.com/

Keep me posted.
