In Softros LAN Messenger, users and groups are stored in the "Settings.data" file located in this user profile folder:
%appdata%\Softros Messenger\Offline
The full path of the "Settings.data" file is stored (along with other user settings) in the "General.ini" file (the "Groups" section). This file is located in:
%appdata%\Softros Messenger
I suggest that you try the following algorithm. It is just necessary to point out beforehand that creating, configuring and distributing user groups can be done only after installing the application on every computer.
1. Set up necessary groups in Softros LAN Messenger on your computer (by right-clicking the "General" group and using the "Add New Group&" command), and then move every user to a corresponding group.
2. Open the "Settings" dialog box, and on the "General" tab, click "Groups Settings&"
3. In the "Groups Settings" dialog box which appears, enable the "System-defined location" option, and then click the "Export Settings to File&" button.
4. Choose a folder where you want your groups settings to be saved, type a desirable name in the "File name" box, and then click "Save".
5. In the "Groups Settings" dialog box, enable the "Load groups settings from file (read-only)" option, and then click the "&" button.
6. Point to the .data file saved in step 4, click "Open", click "OK" to close the "Groups Settings" dialog box, and then click "OK" again to close "Settings".
7. Open the "General.ini" file with Notepad, and in the "UserInfo" section, delete the entire number after "UID=" to prevent your users from having identical user IDs and getting booted from the messaging system.
8. Save the changes made to the "General.ini" file, and then distribute it to all your users (for example, by applying a logon script).
