Looking for a website or web-based app which enables back-and-forth dialog posts regarding multiple issues

Hello,

I am looking for a website or web-based app which enables two or more parties to have back-and-forth dialog regarding a number of issues.

For example, suppose two or more parties are developing a contract for some upcoming business collaboration. Furthermore, suppose that at present, over 30 specific items or issues have been identified which need to be negotiated and agreed upon before the contract can be signed.

I'm looking for a website or application to display a numbered list of the items so that each party can easily see them collectively and individually and also add item-specific questions or comments — each with a date/time stamp and easy identification of who posted it.

I realize that numerous sites exist which enable sharing of various types of files (eg Excel, Word etc.). However, these types of files would not have the needed features such as date/time stamps, etc. Also, I'm not referring  to an audio or video conference call but something which enables participants to post questions or comments whenever it is convenient — similar to how these EE threads work.

We have all been on websites which include an FAQ page in which all of the individual FAQs are displayed as a list of hyperlinks and clicking one of them jumps you further down the page to that particular question along with its answer.

That's the basic picture I've got in mind but instead of only a single answer, each item would be followed by all of the dialog which has been posted regarding that item — sort of in the same way comments are displayed in a forum.

Another feature which would be very helpful is if each time a user logs in, some type of indicator is present which identifies all posts (under any of the items) which have been newly added since that user's last visit to the site.

If anyone knows of a site or application (preferably free of charge) with this type of functionality — or a better approach for accomplishing this objective — I would appreciate the feedback.

Many thanks.

PS I am not completely confident that I have selected the three best categories or topics for this question. If that is the case or if anyone knows of a better topic to use, please inform me so I can post this question again using that topic. Thanks

Hi We...Toad,
I've been involved with Google Groups for a long time, but only recently discovered that there are different types of Google Groups. Two of them may be what you are looking for: Q&A forum and Web forum. You may create one by going to the main Google Groups, but instead of creating the default group type of "Email list", click the drop-down and select "Web forum" or "Q&A forum":

User generated imageUser generated imageI've had many years of success with Google Groups as an Owner, Manager, and simply a member, but they have all been "Email list" groups. As I mentioned above, I only recently discovered the other types of groups and have been experimenting with just the "Q&A forum" type. I like it so far and am considering moving one of my groups to it, but haven't taken the plunge yet. So it's just a recommendation for your short list — I can't yet give it a ringing endorsement, and I don't have enough experience with either of those group types to know if either can do everything you're looking for. But they're free to create and use, so it's worth taking them for a spin. Regards, Joe
