Remove spam without downloading thousands of messages?

I have a mailbox on a linux server. There are thousands of messages sitting in the mailbox and most of those messages are spam. How can I filter spam from that mailbox without downloading them to my outlook? Is there an automated method? I really need this solution.Start Free Trial
