We are running Exchange 2003 on Server 2003 on a server within the domain. Mail from outside the domain is routed through a Server 2003 machine in the DMZ that is running GFI Mail Essentials and Mail Security.
The GFI mail queue flows mail very slowly with usually a couple of hundred messages in it that appear mostly to be spam. Mail to and from outside the domain usually takes 6 - 15 minutes to process through.
On what I think might be related is the dozen POP3 accounts that we have in addition to our SMTP accounts. They are unable to send or receive email from a source other then from within the domain. I have tested this from one of my personal accounts and well as from one of our vendors.
The log files do not indicate to me what could be causing either of these issues.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to check to fix these issues?
