The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Mass emailing and Time Warner/Road Runner

Asked by tparrett in Anti-Spam Email Software

I'm a consultant with a customer doing a large mass emailing about one or 2 a month and need to bounce some questions and get people's thoughts on our situation.  Here goes:

This client has a business through ebay with a registered domain name.  He's now starting to advertise specials through mass emails.  We are using e-campaign (a great program to do this) and about 1 or 2 times a month sends an email out to everyone that has purchased from him or people that have inquired about his products.  The list totals about 9500 names.  And I can guarantee that they are only people that have previously done business with him.  His ISP is Time Warner/Road Runner and he has a business account through them.  On every mailing we have detailed information on how to unsubscribe and not receive future offerings and to date about 600 have unsubscribed from the list and their names have been removed.  For the last 2 mailings we have had one individual contact Time Warner and register a complaint.  This has been the same individual both times.  Time Warner will not give us their name so we can unsubscribe them and there have been no new unsubscribe requests.  Time Warner is now threatening to shut down his account.  I don't know what to do.  I feel that we are being diligent in managing our customer list and I think this might be a competitor that's just trying to shut down his business.

Can anyone offer suggestions about how to handle this unique situation?  Can Time Warner do this?   Is there something else we can do?Start Free Trial
