Hi war1 et al.,
1. I did ask SBC Tech Support, and after they were unable to help, they said to contact Eudora. I'm aware of the authentication issue, I don't think that's the problem. But let's say we forget about the SMTP search, and I'm going to just use Godaddy's SMTP smtpout.secureserver.net for my Godaddy email account. Why doesn't smtpout.secureserver.net work within my DSL network (using Eudora)?
2. I didn't do any fancy settings for "Free SMTP Server." I just installed it the most standard/braindead way and started up the program and expected it to run. Does that help?
3. Thanks for the nerdshack link. However, they require email addresses like example@nerdshack.com to be used in the "From:" field when I want to be able to use my raw@rawpp.com address. This raises an issue from point #1, I think SBC Yahoo! is expecting an SBC or Yahoo! email address in the "From:" field. So the question becomes, are there any "free" remote SMTP servers out there anymore that allow you to use your own email address/incoming server?
Thanks war1. To everybody including war1, any additional help is greatly appreciated. I may end up splitting points.
Best,
Rawray

Greetings, rawray !
1. You should ask SBC Techical Support what is the SMTP server name. Yahoo usually requires authentication, so that has to be selected.
2. Not sure of your setup for Free SMTP Server, so I do not know why it did not work.
3. Nerdshack email service has a free SMTP server which does not require authentication.

Best wishes!
