Browse All TopicsOne of our users have set up several personas in Eudora and our server is not the primary (dominant?)
Our mail server does not require authentication if mail is sent from within our LAN, but if you take your laptop home (for example) then it will require authentication. This is not a problem with Outlook, just checking "Require auth for smtp." But with Eudora our user receives the message:
550 Sorry, <user@domain.tld> is not allowed access from your location
What could be causing this problem? I suppose Eudora is not sending the username and password? But I cannot see how to solve this - I have checked the allow authentication box.
Another issue is that our smtp has to be used because of SPF configurations.

Are you expecting the same password as the POP account or is there a different username/password combintion needed. If so, you need to set up a "relay personality". You can turn on detailed logging and look what Eudora is sending to the smtp server.
In the section [debug] in eudora.ini temporarily make the log level 127 viz something like:
[Debug]
LogFileName=eudora.log
LogFileSize=1500
LogLevel=127
Then try to send mail. This should show you the interaction with the smtp server.
