Sendmail will not send external email

Asked by hushkit in Eudora Email Client, Exchange Email Server, Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP)

I am running an internal Exchange 2003 server that is configured to relay email to a Sidewinder G2 6.2 firewall running Sendmail.
The problem I am having is this, I can receive email but I cannot send it externally I get the following message: Return To Sender: Host Unknown (Name Server: mydomain.com: host not found)
Any clue?
