I am attempting to configure a trial version of IM Queue Manager (
http://re-soft.com/product/queuemanager.htm).
In a nutshell, this application essentially allows you to have IM queues, which direct messages to a group of IM accounts.
For the application to work, a Sametime Plug-in must point to the program's Notes database/XML logic.
Example pointer:
http://notes.domain.com/IMQueue/QueuePlugin.nsf/XMLCannedResponses?ReadViewEntries&Count=1000Anyway, long story short, the Plug-in address is failing because it can't seamlessly authenticate to the database (in spite of ACL Reader access being in place).
If I input the address in a browser, I'm prompted to authenticate (Notes credentials) after which I am correctly directed to the XML file.
The software vendor is requesting that I disable authentication, but 1: I'm not sure if this is a wise security move, and 2: I'm not sure what setting is enforcing the authentication.
Additional information:
We were once using iNotes here, and could access iNotes via a VPN connection.
How can I allow seamless (Sametime) authentication, while also not opening up a security hole?
Thank you
