Sadly this doesn't work either. Can you offer some addtional sources.
Thanks,
Brian

Brian,
Click on the offline icon in the bottom right corner, to go into offline mode.
Click on it again, to toggle it back to online mode.
If no joy, in the main window, go to the Edit menu and select Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings.
1. In the Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings window, select the account you want to delete by clicking on its name in the list at the left.
2. Click the Remove Account button.
3. Confirm that you want to delete the account by clicking the OK
(1) Before doing anything else, download mozbackup and backup your profile.
http://mozbackup.j
(2) Try compacting the mailbox (this 0ption is under the File menu from what I recall).
(3) Download Netscape 7.2 and install that over the top of 7.1. This is still available for download from here
http://browser.netscap
(4) Even better, download Thunderbird from www.mozilla.com. When you install it it will ask if you want to import from Netscape.
Over the past few days I have noticed that, with Mozbackup, it doesn't pick up all the folders. From what I can establish, it is folders that Users create that are not under one of the standard folders that have this problem - not the standard folders: Inbox and Sent.
A belt & braces approach is to find the Mozilla directory on your pc, underneath there you will find your Mail Profiles - (you will see the folders listed there as files with large sizes). Copy the whole profile to somewhere else on your hard drive. Any problems with anything suggested by War1 or myself or indeed anyone else who participates here and you can simply restore that backup.
war1:
Fortunately she appears to be fine aside from being shaken up. A young woman, from a parallel parking space, pulled into traffic without checking her mirrors and slammed into my wife's 1999 Mitsubishi Diamonte; totaling the vehicle. She was ticketed for not ensuring that she had a safe merge into existing traffic. What a headache.
Dianne was on the roadway when she was hit by a young gal pulling out from a parallel park position. The latter was cited since it was her responsibility ensure that she safely entered traffic. Apologies for the confusion. The girl attempted to shift blame to my wife saying she was traveling too fast to be observed in the rear view mirror. The constable was unimpressed and refused to buy the excuse.
Thanks for your concern. The problem now is, if the repairs exceed the value of our car (99 Mitsubishi), we'll be forced into financing another car. What a pain.

war1 & moorhouselondon,
Now that I have the time to pursue your recommendations - I seem to have made matters worse. I downloaded 7.2 to no avail. It morphed into an AOL evil twin. I have probably lost all my past and present email traffic. I am currently attempting to download 7.1 but am plagued with download errors. The error message prompts me to hit the resume button but the download is locked up for some reason. Also, another unexplainable anomalie is that I now have Outlook grabbing my incoming e-mail. I am definitely out of my depth on this issue. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Regards,
Brian
If my earlier comment ID:22804495 were followed - there should at least be a valid backup to go back to.
The link given in that comment should download a file called NSSetup-Full.exe Downloading that and running it should install Netscape 7.2. Once installed, I think what might be happening is that the Browser part is being opened up, and this does having stuff about AOL plastered all over the place, close that. Now in the list of All Programs (accessed from the Windows Start Button), in the Netscape option you should find "Netscape Mail & Newsgroups", which should take you to Mail.
moorhouselondon,
From your address I suspected you were in the British Isles. My father's USAF career gave us an opportunity to live near London from 50 - 54. He was stationed at Ricelip (sp?) during that time frame. During the war he was stationed at Bauxted (sp?) and flew bomber escort in Republic P-47 Thunderbolts over Germany. Some of my childhood heroes were Johnie Johnson, Sailor Malan, Standford Tuck and Douglas Bader. Bader's niece, can't think of her first name, has at least one aviation gallery in the states; Virginia Beach, VA I believe. Perhaps her name was also Virginia . . . but I'm unsure. You're welcome to use my email address if you're inclined (armrdcav@earthlink.net).
Mean while I'm stuck in the neutral position regarding my self imposed NetScape problem. I'm going to have to throw in the towel . . . I'm afraid. It's just taking too much of my personal time (since 10/04/08). I'll use my lap top until the techs get my cpu unscrambled.
Best regards,
Brian
Ruislip is the correct spelling. I used to live near the airfield (Northolt Aerodrome). The planes fly so close to the ground as they cross West End Road that there's traffic lights for when planes approach - these are one set of lights noone would want to "jump"! The biggest excitement for the local community for all the years I lived there was when a plane "landed" on the roof of Express Dairy's warehouse. The USAF used to have a base there, (at the aerodrome, not the dairy) boy were those guys mad, bad drivers. I could only hope that they were better pilots than they were navigating the roundabout at the top of my road! That would have been some years after your father's time there (I added, diplomatically!!).

Moorhouselondon:
Yes, April 10th would be some chunk of time. During my military career that is exactly the manner in which I would identify the date. Now they've changed things a bit, i.e. current date is 08/11/01. They are probably paying selected decision makers six figure incomes for their trouble.
Back to Bauxted . . . Dad flew with the 63rd Fighter Squadron, 56th Fighter Group with guys like Bob Johnson, Walker Mahuran (sp?), Hub Zemke and Francis Gabreski. Thanks for the spelling correction. It's been a while.
Finally, thank you for your patience and your help. I'm sure it was a tad frustrating for both of us. Too bad it could not have been via voice, i.e. "real time". I'm going to hit the rack for a few hours then turn in the CPU to the techs at a local electronics outlet.

Brian
