Email virus - please help me

Tags: could not connect to server pop.tds.net, the connection was refused

I have a dell pc running xp.  Within the last week or so, I noticed that once I check my email, the next time I or any of the other three users check their email, the following message appears "could not connect to server pop.tds.net; the connection was refused.  If I restart the computer, I get one chance to download email before the error message reappears.  I scanned with AVG anti spyware - got nothing, then Norton's anti-virus, still nothing.  Then scanned with kaspersky and found many email infections "Email-worm.win32.klez.h and others (see attached file link) - unfortunately, it did not solve my problem so maybe I'm really not eliminating all the virus'?
