The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Signatures stopped working in Outlook Express

Asked by DougClayton in OE-WindowsLive

Hi There
I am using a PCSpecialist computer with an ASUS A8V Deluxe motherboard with an AMD Athlon 64, 2200 MHz (11 x 200) 3500+  CPU fitted with 2 GB (PC3200 DDR SDRAM) and running Windows XP Professional with all recent Updates.

My problem is with Outlook Express.
Some time ago I set Express up so that I could apply a range of different signatures asa required. This has worked well for a couple of years.

Today, the signatures would not work and Express crashed.
After restarting, I went to look at the Signatures Tab under the Tools - Options Tab, but every time I tried to access the Signatures Tab, Outllook crashed. I could access all other tabs with no problems.

I can both send and receive E-Mails, but cannot attach a signature or set it up again without being able to access the signatures Tab.

On investigating further, I realised that when doing a tidy up, I had inadvertently moved the folder which contained my signature BMPs, GIFs and HTM files. I have now moved it back to its original location - but it still will not work even after a reboot.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can restore the use of the Signatures Tab or can I reinstall Outlook Express without losing my settings/Accounts/Rules etc.

Many thanks
