Something has turned OE into a snail

I have used Outlook Express for years on both of my computers which are linked wirelessly. It has been very responsive until about two weeks ago. Now it has become almost unusable. For example, opening the program may take several MINUTES, not seconds. Likewise for receiving or sending mail. To delete an item in my inbox may take several seconds. Almost every action takes at least several seconds. It performs the same way on both computers. For the last couple years I have been connecting via my TV cable, and it has been very responsive until now.

I wouldn't mind changing to a different mail client, but I have a couple requirements:
It must allow me to have several email accounts.
It must allow me to both send and receive messages in HTML format.

My OS is Windows XP Professional. My computers are one HP Compaq (desktop) and one Fujitsu LifeBook (notebook). I don't recalll installing anything or making any changes that might be causing this problem.Start Free Trial
