The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

My Outlook 2007 crawls at a very slow pace. Can I speed it up somehow?

Hello - This is long but not too complicated - I hope?

I installed Office 2007 Small Business Edition about four months ago because I needed a more robust eMail program. My Outlook Express was not able to check more than 32 email accounts and I have over 40 addresses that need to be checked daily. (I have a number of business and affiliate sites that I am trying to operate each has an email address)  After I set up all my email accounts, it seems to work fine.  However, even when I only had my first five accounts initially (before adding the other 35) for over a week, I noticed that it took about three or four minutes just to get the program to open and then another few minutes to get the toolbars visible and the message & folder list open and the message preview at the bottom to be visible and operating.  THEN, I also noticed that to scroll from one email to the next, it was very slow. As an example, I know that Outlook Express keeps all messages in my hard drive in DBX files so I don't have to wait on my Internet connection to see a message because it's already in my system, not my online connection.  However, it seems like Outlook Express is somehow web based and each message that has images or HTML takes a lot longer than Outlook Express to view.  I need speed because I cannot afford to spend half of my day sorting through emails.

I also see that I have two programs that I do not know if they are needed to have Outlook work like an eMail program. One is Business Contact Manager and the other is something called My SQL which I see on my Add/Remove program list and it seems to be connected to Outlook 2007 because it was installed at the same time.  I do not even know what SQL is, much less why I am using 1/4th of a Gigabyte to have it, even if I don't use it.  Is there a way to have Outlook 2007 and Office 2007 for that matter to operate in a more basic, yet faster way?

My question is simple.  How is the best way to speed up Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager, or, can I somehow uninstall (or disable) Business Manager and make it run faster?  How about the eMail folder? Is there a way to know if I have all my eMails in my hard drive?  Lastly, Outlook Express had a Source Tab at the bottom that I could use as an HTML editor in case I wanted to add a banner to my email  which has HTML is like this:  <a href'"http://www.url-adress.com... etc>Message </a> but if I try that on Outlook, even if it's set up as HTML, is there is no way to do this!  Does Outlook have something similar to Outlook Express Edit/Source/View tabs when new eMails are created?

I know this is a long question, but it's only because I have to explain in a way that I know I am addressing my problem and easy for you to evaluate and answer.

Thanks to you all!
