Importing email from a different language
Hello Experts.
I've imported Outlook Express data files for a customer and have put them on a different computer.
The data file names are in Japanese and when I open the files in Outlook Express I get a bunch of garbled characters. Not Japanese.
I've tried adding the Japanese language both in Windows XP control panel and in Outlook Express but it doesn't help. It looks to me like the data is corrupted but I wanted to check with you folks first to see if I'm missing something.

Is the Office 2007 language pack necessary for Outlook Express?
Is a language pack necessary the I can read the data file names (dbx files) in Japanese but not the data?
Thanks.

Not sure where Outlook Express fits in anymore, haven't used it for years. I believe it is part of Windows.
The language pack is more for Office, I believe.
If anyone else has input, please step in.
