You need to export the address book at preset frequencies and keep it safe.

Under the File menu, you can find the Export option. To export the address book:

Select "File | Export | Address Book..." from the main menu
Select "Text File (Comma Separated Values)"
Click "Export"
Type a file name in the "Save exported file as" input box.
For example type, "C:\MYADRBOK.CSV"
Click "Next"
Optionally select the fields you wish to export and click "Finish"
Click "Close" once the exporting is completed

Greetings, SiamSter !

If you have the customers names in notepad format, copy the info to an excel spreadsheet. Save the file as a CSV file.  This file can be imported into the Outlook Address book.

Cheers!

what about the ones which are just emails at the moment in my inbox?

by: war1Posted on 2005-09-01 at 23:11:58ID: 14807958

There is no easy to cut addresses out of the emails.  You will have to save them one at a time in Outlook Address Book.  Then saved them as outlined by RanjeetRain.

There is a feature called 'Automatically put people I reply to'. When this option is selected, anybody you reply to, his/her name gets added in your address book. So, what you need to do is to reply to the mails that you want the senders name added to your Inbox.

Wait, that would sound impractical, to reply to mails just to add them to the address book. The good news is that, you don't really have to SEND a reply. Hitting the 'Reply button' when the mail is selected is enough.

So, now what you have to do is, just select the emails of people whose name you want added and hit 'Reply'. Even simpler, just select all the mails (press <Ctrl+A>) and hit 'Reply'.

Ok Thanks guys, i'll try and sort it this week

Also, i use a pc at my office and a laptop at home 24/7, would this make it a bit more complicated with outlook using 2 machines?

Cheers,

Chris

If you set the option to leave mail on server, then you can download emails on both machines.
