Browse All TopicsI am trying to get messages from an NSF file to an Outlook PST file. I think I should be able to do this by exporting mail to excel, however, I am not having much luck doign so. What is the proper method for exporting notes data into an excel format that Microsoft Outlook could then import? Is there another way to do this? I saw some paid utilities, but #130 is a bit much to move data IMO.

Actually i wud suggest you something kind of different if it's a one time process. I have seen code where you can import your NOtes contacts to Gmail format. Once you have it in that format, boy Gmail gives you lot of other formats to be saved as. Infact htere is one format called Gmail to outlook.csv

You can try exporting the messages to Excel, but the data will be a bit sloppy and just in text format. I'm not sure that it would even be 'importable' into Outlook, but if you wanted to try, or at least have a 'text copy' here's how:
From the Inbox, select the e-mail you want to transfer, then go to File \ Export - Structured Text
Give the file a name, and enter - choose 'Selected Documents'
Then open the file up in Excel - it won't be pretty, but at least you'll have an electronic (and searchable) copy of the e-mails.
The method that I think works best for me is this
Setup a DAMO environment (Domino Access for Microsoft Outlook)
Point the user account to the NSF that you want to turn into a pst.
Replicate the data down to the pst. then you can archive it to an archive.pst
This is the most readable format that I can find.

No easy way. Your best bet is to buy a utility or write one.
If you are only interested in pure text , you may be able to extract it partially, but it will not be fun.
DO you have a PDA of some kind,
Most support Notes Synch, so that might be a good method.
