The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Nothing will help unless the contacts were stored locally as you backed up your machine.  But if the contacts are stored on yahoos servers or whatever then you may be SOL.

Hello Monkeyrod,

No, system restore will not restore contacts not on your computer, but is located on Hotmail server.

Ask Hotmail support to restore the contacts.  Or recreate the contacts manually.

Hope this helps!

Do you save copies of the sent emails in hotmail to the sent folder?
If so then you should have some sent emails in there unless you cleaned them out and gather email address from there

No offense to you War1, but I wouldn't ask Hotmail support to tie my shoes...freaking idiots :)   plus the support question page is about 5 pages long :)

and yes I do save sent messages, but really now that I think about it, I really didn't use my contact list much...long story short the reason I started messing with it is every time I would hit new message, the blank space where you type got messed up and my contact list was on the right side of the screen...taking up most of the free space for the e-mail...

but there's one thing, I found the Windows Live contact files on my HD...seems like there's gotta' be some way to get 'em back...

wow, what a joke, this support guys has been e-mailing me back and forth about an old problem i've had with hotmail (i'm sure you've heard of it)...when you open almost every message it says "some content blocked for your blah blah, and you have to hit show content, which doesn't sound like a big deal, but it gets old...

this is last e-mail i wrote him just a minute ago

Sorry I'm NOT wasting anymore time with this, it's a problem EVERYBODY has...I'll just wait till you guys fix it...no offense...man I wish hotmail would have never messed with the great program they offered...When I find the solution to this problem with the show content thing, i'll let ya' know     (lotta' people talking about it on Expert-Exchange.com, and they'll figure it out....good luck with Windows Live Hotmail, passport, whatever you wanna' call it...
