Changing port number for RPC over HTTP in Outlook

Asked by gbax in Email Clients, Exchange Email Server

Tags: Microsoft, Outlook, 2003, RPC over HTTP

I am trying to setup the Exchange Proxy details in Outlook for remote users to be able to logon to their email, but have come across a problem.  We have changed the default HTTPS port from 443 for Outlook, and this appears to prevent us from setting up the Exhange Proxy on the clients. When entering the details of the into the Proxy setting box, it comes up with an error saying "The Proxy server you have entered is invalid".  It would appear that it doesn't like the appended port number (webmail.xxxxxx.com:8443).

Does anyone know if it is possible to change this? I have looked in the registry and can't find where this information is stored.

Thanks
