Hi Guys.
I am sure this is an easy question if you know what to set.
What I want to get done is to be able to use RPC over HTTP without the need to use an external Certificate provider. I would like this to work from domain and none domain computers, with the minimum of manual setup. I am sure that I can setup the RPC over HTTP side as I have done this before with no issue. But I am having problems getting the Enterprise root certificate on the client system.
Server 2003 SP2 (KB922706 install for Vista enrollment.)
Clients XP/Vista
IIS6
What I have done.
Installed Certficate Server Enterprise
Create Root certifcate
Create Child Certificate.
Added Certificate to Default/Exchange websites in IIS6
Create group policy to publish root certifcate
Test can connect from domain computer to HTTPS\exchange page without issue.
ISSUE.
I am trying to get the root certificate or Child certficate accessed on the remote system. I have tried exporting the certificates and importing them into the client system but the root certificate still show as untrusted.
Is the problem that I am using an enterprise certficate store! Do I need to use a standalone Certficate store.
I belive that this should not be to hard to resolve if you are use to dealing with certificate store.
Waiting for your reply.
