Thunderbird filter management

Is there a plugin for Thunderbird that would enable more advanced filter management? Right now the filters are simply one huge linear list. I'd like to at least group them into folders so I can have "friend filters" folder and a "spam filters" folder, etc.

I'd also like to be able to share filters between the Local Folders section and the email account section. Right now I need to create one filter for incoming and one for outgoing.Start Free Trial

Under http://kb.mozillazine.org/Thunderbird_:_FAQs_:_Filters#Creating_filters
Important: filters must be set up on a per-account basis, and they likewise operate on a per-account basis. There is not currently any option to create "global filters" that will operate on all accounts 'except in the case of multiple POP accounts using the Global Inbox. In this case, you can create filters for Local Folders that will be applied automatically to incoming mail for all those accounts.

I wasn't even aware that you could set up Outgoing filters.
