The machine in question is running Windows XP SP2 and has been running Thunderbird without problems. However, yesterday the user of the machine elected to update Thunderbird when it indicated that an update was available. Since completing the update, Thunderbird has failed to run.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird to no avail. I've removed the Thunderbird folder (after backing it up) from Documents and Settings\UserID\Applicatio
n Data\, then uninstalled and reinstalled. Still won't run. I've reverted to a previous version. Still won't run.
When watching Task Manager\Processes, the Thunderbird process starts, but immediately closes.
Interestingly, I can run Thunderbird configured as a Portable App on a USB drive, but the hard drive installation doesn't work.
If anyone has an idea, please send it along.
Thanks!
