Hello teampandu,
Is Outlook installed in Vista also? I assume you set up SSL correctly in Outlook as it works.
Try alternate POP sever pop.gmail.com
Login name should be full domain address, not only user name. What did you use in Outlook?
Delete the old password for Google Apps in Password Mananger. Go to Tools > Options > Privacy > Edit Saved Password.
Then when you select Get Mail, Thunderbird will ask you for password. Make sure to type in password corectly. It is case sensitive.
Hope this helps!
