Yes, if you want to write the HTML, you must use the Insert->HTML and it should recognize it.

Browse All TopicsI am trying to create a HTML email using Thunderbird to send newsletters. I have created websites which are able to send HTML emails to customers when they fill out a form. I was told I simply had to type the html email into Thunderbird with HTML switch turned on and this would recognise the HTML.
All I get is a email showing the HTML I have just written, not the images. I'm confused.
Thanks,
Chris

Hi Thanks for the quick response. Yes I have HTML checked in the account settings, and the format toolbar comes up.
I finally understand now. I have started to put together a design for the HTML email in the client, but I am working on a MAC and cannot see how I link to my remote images on a server. I would prefer this method as this email will be sent to lots of clients and this would keep the size down.

Nutbeen,
So to confirm, in TB under Tools->Account Settings->Composition & Addressing, the Compose messages in HTML format is checked, correct?
Also, when you are Composing your email, do you have the Format toolbar showing up? If not, then it is not creating in HTML.
If yes, you do not have to type out the html, it will do it automatically. Are you creating the html or letting TB do it?
