Mozilla Thunderbird displays HTML e-mails incorrectly most of the time

Asked by tonydav67 in Thunderbird Email Client

On one install of Thunderbird, most HTML e-mails I receive have extra characters. E.g.

------=_NextPart_000_005F_01C91F0E.9624FF20
Content-Type: text/plain;
      charset="us-ascii"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

They need 15 at the moment,

I have several other computers also running Thunderbird and these have no issue.  This account is a gmail via imap account, and if I archive the e-mail item via gmail, then move it back to the inbox Thunderbird normally displays correctly.

Note that the above example is just a normal e-mail.  Probably has a font setting but that's about it.
