Thunderbird Contacts Whitelist

Hi all,

I have number of newsletters coming into my inbox.

Currently in Thunderbird I create a new contact for each newsletter email address and set it to always load the images from that address.

Is it possible to just create like a whitelist with these emails on it without having to have individual contacts for each newsletter??

I'm not sure what you mean. What should the "whitelist with these emails on it" contain? Do you want the whitelist to be for an entire domain (@whatever.com)? Should it be based on something in the subject line?

Hi ElrondCT,

Basically I receive a number of newsletters. To keep them from ending up in my junk mail I have created a contact for each one. In addition for each of these contacts I have set the contact to automatically load images from that email address so that way I don't have to click the load images button each time I read a newsletter.

However I know have all of these emails as contacts in my address book. When really it would probably be nice just to have one contact such as "Newsletter Emails" and have all the email addresses associated with that contact rather than having 15-20 different contacts in my address book.

Did that help make it clearer??

It sounds like your concern is really with all the separate entries cluttering up your address book. What I would suggest is that you create an additional address book. I personally have an address book that I title "Mailing lists," and I keep all of my newsletter contacts (where the only reason I have the contact is so that the images load automatically) in that book.

To do this, open the Tbird address book, choose File/New/Address Book. Give the new book a name. Click on your original address book to display the current list of addresses, and drag the addresses you want to move to the new book.

Does that do what you want, or am I misunderstanding your intent? There is no way to have a single address book entry store more than two addresses ("email" and "additional email").
