The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

Moving public folders from Exchange 2000 box to Exchange 2003 box.

I have a new IBM server running WIndows Server 2003 Ent. ed with MS Exchange 2003 on it. My old server is a Windows 2000 server SP4 with Exchange 2000 SP2 on it.  I'm having a problem with public folders. When I move my mailbox from 2000 to 2003 box I almost everything thing works fine. When I reopen outlook my mailbox is there and I can send/receive email. However, I can not access public folders any longer.

I have marked all the public folders for replication in System Manager, I did that a few days ago. In Exchange System Manager the public folders are only listed under the 2000 box, not on the 2003 box.  

I ran the pfmigrate.wsf program, it says:

I read that log file to mean that I have properly replicated the public folders.  So...I check the size of the databases on both servers. On Windows 2003 the pubfolder database appears to be the original size, about 4mb or so. On 2000 box it is a several hundred megabytes.

Anyway, that is my tale of Exchange agony. If anyone has any advice I will greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
