This is more of a request for comment than a question, but I will assign points for good advice.
What are your real-life experiences of using DNS Blacklists and DNS Validation to block spam? I have a predicament in that my company deals with a lot of individuals and organisations that use free webmail accounts or have poorly configured e-mail systems and these two sender validation measures that we could implement to pretty much block all spam have in the past resulted in mail from those sources being blocked or rejected. We therefore have to rely on the spam filter itself being able to block the incoming mail based on content.
The amount of SPAM getting through is on the up and your average thicko user thinks it's because the Antivirus Security isn't working anymore(sic) and our helpdesk is getting bombarded.
What has been the approach of some of the experts here? Tell the users to lump it, or risk e-mails that could come from customers or airlines, etc... being blocked?
