Hello valleyauto,

Check if the last email not downloaded is corrupt or too large.  In webmail, move the email to another folder. Then download the rest of the emails.

1. Register an important send/receive library file.  Go to Start > Run and type regsvr32 inetcomm.dll

If you get an error, run regsvr32.exe from an elevated command prompt. To get an elevated command prompt, right-click on the "Command Prompt" shortcut and select "Run as Administrator".

2. Check if antivirus email check is slowing sending and receiving.  Disable it. Check if other programs running in the background is interfering. Disable one at a time the Firewall, antispyware, antispam, and all Norton programs.

3. In the account settings, Advanced settings, change the server timeout time from 1 min to 5 min

4. Create a new Outlook profile.

5.  Check with email provider Tech Support to determine if server is having trouble.

Hope this helps!

are you behind a router or firewall?

05.08.2008 at 12:20PM PDT, ID: 21527636
War 1 - I have checked on webmail for emails. It's weird, I can download files until the download reached 17K (of whatever). Once that's done, I stop Outlook. Reopen it, and it wil download other messages.

However, in webmail it always has the same amount of messages posted since Outlook never really finishes the download task.

In your step 1), I get the following error:

RegSvr32

The module "inetcomm.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DLL RegisterSrever was not found.

Make sure that "inetcomm.dll" is a valid DLL or OCX file and then try again.
_______________________________________________________
Step 2), new install and have not loaded AV yet.

Step 3), tried timeout settings, no improvement

Step 4), created a new profile and still the same problem (with new data file)

Step 5), been on email support today and there are no problems with emal accounts. All other emails in domain are working fine.

And yes, we are behind a Linksy RV062 firewall / router. We have an XP system with Outlook 2007 working just fine behind that router as well.

I have found a service pack 1 for MSOffice 2007, going to load that next.

Any other ideas?

valleyauto, you wrote, "I can download files until the download reached 17K (of whatever). Once that's done, I stop Outlook. Reopen it, and it will download other messages."

So restarting Outlook results in more downloaded emails?

Check if your ISP is limited the number of downloaded emails per session or day.  I know that Gmail does that, limiting the number of emails at once to 300 emails.

I have worked with the IPS for days on this.

when we download, we get one or two messages in  (17K) is where it hangs. I understand the setting and we have verified that is not it. Once again, i can configure outlook on another PC (XP, outllok 2007) and use this email account all day long.

This PC had this described problem, could not fix it. Completely reinstalled the OS (Vista) and Outlook 2007. Now it has the same problem.

When you created the new OS, did you create a new user account?  Or did you import the old account to new OS?
