The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Removing my Last Exchange 5.5 server

Asked by cschell26 in Email Software, Exchange Email Server

We migrated over a year to Exchange 2003.  When we installed our first Exchange 2003 server we installed into our existing Exchange 5.5 site and then using Exchange Tasks in AD, moved all our mailboxes to the new Exchange 2003 server.   Everything has been running great.  All public folders have been moved as well.   About a month ago we finally stopped all our services on the Exchange 5.5 server in preparation to make sure email was flowing properly.   We then powered our Exchange 5.5 server off and it has been off for a couple of weeks now.   I have removed all Connection Agreement except for the Config_CA.     I went to finally delete the Exchange 5.5 server following the microsoft docs for Removing the Last Exchange Server and Preparing for Native Mode only to find that when I went to delete it that it said I still had 443 mailboxes, was I sure I wanted to delete them.    Of course I said no!   I was connected to my Exchange 2003 server with Exchange 5.5 admin console and all mailboxes said Home Server was the Exchange 2003 server but if I looked at the properties of one it said the Home Server was the Exchange 5.5 server.   I have looked in ADSEDIT at some of my users and in their properites it said the homeMDB is the Exchange 2003 server.   I am really nervous to delete the Exchange 5.5 server and need some assistance or confirmation that Exchange 5.5 is just being stupid.   Can someone help me understand or tell me that if I say yes to the delete that all of my 443 mailboxes won't disappear.   By they way these are 2 separate server with 2 separate priv.edb.

Thanks in advance.
