thanks. I'm going to see if any file genius responses come in and in the meantime, take a look at filezilla.

We are looking for a way for our customers to log into our PHP web site (each customer has their one log in), and push files out to them, or have them upload files to be worked on to us. The files can be large. This product looks like a hosted collaboration system, and we would not be using this for our own company but for customers - so a secure workspace needs to be created for each. It looks like in this scenario they are transmitting files via email for these workspaces - which is a problem with large files.
We do not have web resources, so we were looking for something that could do the file transfer we need fairly cheaply. Does this product - FileGenius - have any way to connect to it form a web site?

I'm the founder of FileGenius. You can do what you want with the product and we do NOT use email to send files. We use our own internalized maily system to send encrypted links which give the user access to download the file to their respective computers and systems.
FileGenius is unique in the industry in that it offers the owner the ability to create an unlimited number of workspaces, private sub-sites, for each customer, client, associate, etc. Within each of those workspaces the site owner can also create an unlimited number of uses, with any combination of permissions to create any number of combinations of user types (by access).
We offer batch upload, move/copy/rename, multipe Admin accounts, unlimited bandwidth, unlimited transactions, and a single file size limit of 2GB. All packages offer ALL features, with the only difference being storage capacity. We offer 15GB, 25GB, custom sized storage (we have customers using 400GB) and we now offer dedicated servers with essentially unlimited storage and enhanced performance.
The security is excellent, superior to solutions costing many times more. Security details are on our demo site (see URL below).
Additionally we are also the only company in this business that offers full private-labeling, meaning FileGenius' name, logo - anything to do with us - does NOT appear on your site or in your site address.
We're responsible for all management, maintenance, offer unlimited phone support to all customers, and offer both a demo site (https://demo.filetransfer

Hi,
I don't know FileGenius. In my company we created an installer that installed winscp server on our clients machines, and wrote a few scripts to do the uploads. winscp is free to use and has the basics to upload your clients files. On our side we used FileZilla FTP server which is very easy to use.
Hope this helped!
