Question
Where are limewire music downlad files located by default?
I just restored a Sony Vaio that was so riddled with viruses and spyware that it wouldn't boot no matter what I did to fix it. I saved off all user settings and any other folders that related to documents, howewire (what a surprise!). What is the music format for limewire (is it mp3?) and where is the default location of the files? I hope I didn't erase them!!

Limewire music files are formatted in whatever format they were originally store in. This can vary as limewire uses Peer-to-Peer copying, so basically whatever format the host computer used. They are stored in the root of the user folder under the "shared" directory. You can access the user's folder by opening my computer and typing %userprofile%. However, if you are attempting to locate them in a backed up setting, you will need to go to documents and settings\[user] in order to find the info.
