Asked by Steve_Harrington in Peer to Peer, Windows XP Operating System
The system was working fine..4 computers all XP, connected to a Linksys WRT150 v.1.1 wireless router (all hardwired, not wireless). I had DSL connected from a Wireless DSL modem. The DHCP provided by the Linksys. I had the Linksys set up according to their instructions. Everything was working fine. Then the Wireless DSL went down and I tried to switch the internet back to my old Wild Blue Satellite system. I got the internet to work, but the home network crashed. I havent been able to revive it. The DSL is back and I configured everything as it was before. No luck. The computers are on the same workgroup, the Local Area Connection says it is connected and the right dhcp IP and gateway IP..it all looks good except they do not show in View Workgroup Computers or when I try to navigate to another computer in My Network Places I get the computer not accessible error. I have all but two compters shut down. The two that are up have all TCP/IP settings on auto. I'm stumped. I had a similar problem 5 years ago and it was a switch burried deep in the Register..I changed a number and it worked fine. Unfortunately I can't find that info now. I think it came from this forum. Any ideas? Does anyone have a detailed checklist of things to check for this?
Tks!
Steve
