The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

my torrents always external on Xbtit

I recently setup a Xbtit server install because I want to give an easier way for myself and my coworkers from around the world to get large documents, isos, etc. that we have for company use.  Many times, they want to mail it, and it takes forever.  FTP and HTTP is annoying because its obviously slow and can easily mess up; causing a start from scratch.

Anyway, I tried to create torrents from within Azureus (Vuze) and maketorrent.  Every single one works, but thru DHT only.  When trying to sync to the server, Azureus says "Error (Torrent is not authorized for use on this tracker.)"  I'm using the PHP tracker for the server.  The web server works, the fqdn is correct in the torrent file.  When I go into the database and manually change it from external to internal, it then gives a different error about the PID not existing and to re-download the torrent.  I do that and then everything is good.

The odd thing is that I take the torrent file that I used to download the xbtit software from a different site (obviously) and upload it, it works immediately.  But doesn't see it as external like I'd expect.

The docs aren't very good from what I've seen on the Xbtit server.  So what I'm trying to figure out is how can I get the server to properly recognize the difference between internal and external torrents.  I'm suspecting its a server config issue and not a torrent creation issue, but can't tell.

If you have a different recommendation for a torrent server, I'm all ears.  My only requirement is a web front end that lists and categorizes the files and has user managment.  Basically same functionality of Xbtit.Start Free Trial
