The Solution Rating System
|
|
| With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating. - The Grade of the Solution
- The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
- The Number of Author and Expert Comments
- The Number of Experts Contributing
- The Feedback of the Community
Your Input Matters Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site. If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support. Thank you! |

Asked by David_Zucker in Internet File Sharing Software, Perl Programming Language, Miscellaneous, Web Languages/Standards
Hi,
Here is a refined version of a question I recently submitted, which got no replies.
I want to make some files available for access via email: ie, the person sends an email to a certain address and they receive a return email with the file.
After some nosing around on the web, I realized that what I want is a script (or some other utility) for setting up through my website an autoresponder that allows attachments (with the files I want to attach being located on the server associated with my website). The requester will send an email to a designated address, and the autoresponder wijll send back the response with the attachment. I am only interested in ONE SHOT autoresponders where the response is initiiated by an EMAIL from the requester. I am NOT interested in autoresponders that send out periodic automatic email messages to people on a subscription list. I am NOT interested in an autoresonder that requires the requester to submit his request on the web. I DO want, if possible, the capability for the requester to choose from a number of available files - ie the requester enters a catalog number in the subject line or the message body, and the autoresponder sends the file the requester is seeking. The attachment files I have in mind are MP3 recordings of lectures, so we are tallking about sizeable files - on the order of 5 MB or more (although I probably could break each one into smaller files). In my nosing on the web, I was not able to turn up something suitable. I'd be grateful for your help.
Thanks,
David
