SuSE servers unable to send large amounts of data using ssh
Hi,
this question inherits from: https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/24544548/Rsync-fails-on-Cisco-5505.html
As further troubleshooting took place, new pointers came to light.
First of all, it must be made clear that the firewall/router has a switch on the LAN side that is not firewalled or restricted. The Interlink is connected on the switch side as is the server on each side.
During some testing a laptop was connected on one of the switches and using putty ssh'ed to each server. Changed to the / directory and performed a simple ls -lR on each server. Both servers listed all the directories as expected.
Then the server on the same side were the laptop was connected ssh'ed to the other server and the same process was repeated (ls -lR). This time only a few lines were displayed and the session hung up.
The conclusions from this test is that:
1. the Interlink is ok and performs well.
2. both servers are capable of ssh and send a large amount of packets
3. the servers are unable to communicate together when large data transfer is involved.
Notes:
Both servers are running SuSE Linux.
Both servers used to communicate well when the connection was done through the Internet.
Any ideas?
Thanks
