Putty Connection Manager not working as expected

I installed Putty CM 7.1 v136 on Windows v7. When I try to open a session to say a Cisco router - a new putty instance is opened BEHIND Putty Connection Manager window rather than the new session appearing in a tab within Connection Manager. I ran into a similar issue a couple of years back when I first started using Connection Manager. But I can't remember the mojo to fix this. Anyone know??
