I'm trying to connect to a webdav drive from XP. I'm following the instructions in the video:

I click <My Network Places> <Add Network Place> then I enter the URL into the box just as done in the video.
I get an error message:
The folder you entered does not appear to be valid. Please choose another.
This is the URL I"m trying to connect to.
http://192.168.0.7:8080/
I know the URL is correct because I can get there from OSX just not windows XP.
What am I doing wrong? How do I fix this?

It looks like the Windows client is locked to port 80
You have three options:
1. Give up.
2. Change the port on your WebDAV server to 80
3. Use a configurable Windows WebDAV client.
4. Use a different authoring/versioning system
#1 doesn't sound like an option; I don't know about #2 - whether it can be done and what the side effects would be; #3 has some possibilities and #4 would be an earthquake

The product you want from here is freeware: 'DataFreeway' and it's actually an ftp et al. client that happens to support WebDAV. I found a few cursory reviews and the software seems to be free of malware and to be functional (I downloaded it and tried an install on my XP test box - it ran, didn't crash the box and worked as an ftp client) but that's all I know (I have no webDAV assets on my system). It's definitely worth a look it you have the time.

There are a number of other ways of skinning this cat, but they can get pretty byzantine. It is bizarre that Windows doesn't have flexible support for a protocol that has been around for more than a decade, but....

The webDAV service must be mapped to port 80. It looks like yours is mapped to port 8080 (that's the :8080 part of the address).
It also looks like your service is on a local machine (the 192.168.0.7 address is a local address) so you may be able to reconfigure it.
Sorry I can't be of more assistance. Maybe someone else out here knows more about this than I do (for sure...).
