IE9 not retaining settings

Let me 1st say I'm not really a fan of IE funcitonality, but out of habit I like it & continue to use it (tried Firefox, and it's ok, but prefer IE). Anyway...on to the question(s):
IE9 for the most part the past day or 2 will not sporadically...

iPhone and gmail sync

I have never really sync'd my iphone contacts with gmail before as I was concerned that all the cached email addresses that appear in the TO field as you type an email address, will sync across to my phone.

Perhaps my concerns were raised...
