spybot can be set to run at setup. i have a system that must be rootkitted or something. spybot runs at startup and cleans it, cws runs and cleans it and because of teatimer the reg does not get reinfected. pop ups via iexplorer have stopped since scanning with sbybot and spyware doctor. installed mozilla and mozilla was immediately infected and popping crap up - first time i've seen that in 10 years of it work.
if i boot up mozilla or ie and type in "hijackthis" the brower closes. if i go to trend and click to download hijackthis closes. i downloaded hijackthis on another computer and copied it with a usb key to the infected computer - ran it and it closed immediately. so now my plan is to have it run at startup, before anything else, like spybot knows how to do. oh, avast won't install either, it shuts down immediately ... i am surprised it let me download and install spybot and google pack spyware doctor - guess it is playing me...
what is the reg entry spybot uses to run itself only at startup or how does it do it. any other advice.
