The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not?   • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. AVG free V8 - a .bin file is missing

I tried to update my AVG free V8 antivirus tonight, the update starts, then aborts and comes up with the message a .bin file is missing.  Also the AVG icon periodically displays this message.  I have un-installed the program and downloaded the latest download and re-installed, but still get this error message.
The program was working fine yesterday and cannot think of anything i have done for this to happen.
I am running windows XP with SP 3.  Start Free Trial
