Hello People.. I have been handed a computer to try to cleanup for a friend. I have gone through the usual step of cleansing this machine of junk, spyware, and virus' and the popup are still happening.
I have run Adaware, CrapCleaner, Spybot S&D, and finally installed and did a full scan and removal with AVG.
Now I have done multiple scans, yet the Popups continue? Usually this is enough to clear up the problem, but it hasn't. I have even gone into MSCONFIG and IE's Manage addons and disabled anything that doesn't look right, or does not return any information through web research.
My questions are.
1. Does anyone have any advice of where I can look next for problems?
2. Would it be a good idea to reinstall IE7 incase this is something that has
embedded itself into IE7?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. The computer is running great now
except these popups... They always load full screen, and the the sites
that load up vary.
