The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Serious Virus Issue

My Windows XP SP2 machine is in a right state. It starts up but Auto Update is disabled, if you try to re-enable it, it doesnt work, whenever I load IE or Firefox browsers and click on a link the browser gets hijacked and take you to random sites. Also, AVG 7.5 (Free Version) won't update. It used to do this automatically, but now it fails saying it cannot connect to the server.

I tried installing Search & Destroy but the check issues just fails saying it needs to be updated, even though it's up to date.

I used CCleaner to fix the registry, that didnt help

I have done this all in safe mode but get the same results.

I coudl really use some help as I dont want to have to trash my drive if i can avoid it.Start Free Trial
