The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

my company's exchange site pulls up via all connection types EXCEPT my simple comcast home connection

Asked by jayindy1 in Firefox Web Browser, Exchange Email Server, Apple Laptop

Tags: MacBook Pro - Leopard, Firefox, 2.0.0.14, will not pull up our company's owa, exchange website, MacBook Pro, Apple, version 10.5.3 Mac OS X, 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, Server not found, Firefox can't find the server at owa.xxxxxx.com.

For 2-3 months now I've had this annoying problem.

From my hot Comcast cable connection here at home, I cannot connect to https://owa.mycompany.com/exchange via Mac/Firefox, my default browser, nor will it pull up with Safari.

At the same moment I CANNOT pull up OWA, I CAN pull up normal sites like Google, CNN and Yahoo.

Review -

I CANNOT get OWA via MacBook Pro/Firefox/Comcast
I CAN get OWA via Mac/XPParallels-IE/Comcast (what I call the XP side of my mac)
I CAN get OWA via Mac/Firefox/Comcast/VPN'd thru my Comcast connection (we use Cisco VPN)
I CAN get OWA via Mac/Firefox/Verizon V640 Aircard
I CAN get OWA via Mac/Firefox/Verizon V640 Aircard/VPN'd.
I CAN get OWA via Mac/Firefox/Sprint Sierra Wireless Compass 597 (new since yesterday)

I've checked my mac parental controls thinking owa was being blocked there, but it is not, is empty.

I also completely bypassed my Linksys WRT300N gateway (plugged my Mac directly into cable modem), again, can get other websites, but not OWA.

My Firefox's proxy settings are all empty-blank (I'm not sure what else to check).

I also logged on for a very time onto my neighbor's unsecure "NETGEAR" WiFi and I cannot pull OWA up that way either, so there must be some setting in my Mac hindering OWA, but allowing OWA site when connected thru Aircard(s) & VPN tunnels.

A fix here will sever 1 more tie to Microsoft, because the simply fix for me is to jump over to XP side when running Parallels & get my email via comcast and IE.
